I wasn’t always a libertarian. Like many, I started my political journey supporting candidates and ideas that I thought would create positive change, even serving as a Trump supporter at one point. But over time, I began questioning the status quo and realized I wanted something more—something rooted in real liberty and personal responsibility.
When I discovered the Libertarian Party, it was like a lightbulb went off. I finally found a political philosophy that aligned with my core values: individual liberty, limited government, and protecting the rights of others. Taking the Liberty101 class with Calvin M. at my local affiliate was a turning point. It deepened my understanding of libertarian principles and inspired me to take action.
From the moment I became a libertarian, I knew I wanted to stand up for what’s right. I’ve been vocal about ending qualified immunity and exposing police corruption—issues that strike at the heart of justice and government accountability.
These aren’t just talking points for me. I’ve dedicated podcast episodes to these topics, breaking down why they matter and how we can push for real reform. Liberty means holding power accountable, and I’m not afraid to have those tough conversations.
When I joined Mike ter Maat’s campaign, this was the biggest issue I grilled him on. I needed to ensure he was as committed to reforming these injustices as I was. Like many of us, Mike had a past before finding liberty, and I admired his willingness to learn and grow. That’s what this movement is about: recognizing that none of us are perfect, but we can embrace liberty and work toward making things right. We all have a past before finding liberty, and we all learn from it. That’s what drives us to be better advocates for justice.
I believe in being honest about my journey, including where I started. Before finding the Libertarian Party, I was a Trump supporter. At the time, I saw him as someone who was shaking up the political establishment and speaking to the frustrations of everyday Americans. But as I dug deeper into the principles of liberty, I realized that true change comes from limiting government power—not just shifting who holds it.
This realization pushed me to reexamine my beliefs and seek a philosophy that aligned with my values of individual freedom, personal responsibility, and non-aggression. Becoming a libertarian wasn’t just a political shift for me; it was a transformation in how I view the role of government and our responsibilities as individuals.
I carry the lessons from my time as a Trump supporter with me, and I use them to connect with others who, like me, are seeking something more. That shared experience helps me communicate the principles of liberty in a way that resonates and inspires.
When I first entered politics, I ran as a Republican candidate for State Representative. At the time, I believed the GOP might be a place where I could fight for liberty and make a difference. But I quickly learned otherwise. I was told to stay quiet about my bisexuality, not to talk about my lesbian aunts, and to tone down my support for the Second Amendment. On top of that, I was pressured to blindly back the establishment, even when I knew they were wrong.
Growing up, my family supported Ron Paul, and while I was too young to fully grasp the significance of his message at the time, his principles of liberty and limited government left a lasting impression. After my disillusioning experience with the GOP, I started exploring the Libertarian Party—and that’s where I found my true political home.
What drew me in was the party’s commitment to standing up for what’s right, even if it means challenging leadership. I’ve seen firsthand how some past and current leaders target those who dare to question them, but I believe in a different path. Leadership should serve as stewards of the people, not gatekeepers of power.
In the Libertarian Party, I found a place where authenticity, courage, and principles matter. My journey has taught me that liberty is worth fighting for, and I’m proud to stand with a party that values individuality and accountability. This is where I belong, and this is where I’ll continue the fight for freedom.
Today, our party faces critical challenges: membership and donations are at an all-time low, and our influence is at risk of shrinking when it should be expanding. I’m running to bring a fresh, unifying approach grounded in tenacity, innovation, and a compassionate focus on practical outreach. The Libertarian Party has boundless potential to lead America towards a future of true individual freedom and limited government, but this requires a dedicated and transparent effort to build our membership, engage new supporters, and restore confidence in our mission.
As an LNC At-Large representative, I am committed to:
Building Membership with Effective Outreach: By amplifying our message through modern, dynamic outreach channels, we can inspire more Americans to join our movement and support our cause. This includes reaching out to those who may be new to libertarian ideas and showing them the real-world benefits of liberty.
Increasing Donations through Trust and Transparency: When members see transparency and professionalism, they are more likely to feel invested in our mission. I will work tirelessly to ensure every donor knows exactly how their support drives impactful, liberty-centered actions.
Fostering a Culture of Civility and Respect: I will bring a steady, empathetic voice to the LNC, ensuring that all members feel welcomed and valued, regardless of ideological differences.
